The provision of effective research skills training is currently a serious issue at many universities. Research Skills Online is an series of online research skills training courses together with a learning management system to deliver them.
Many of the skills that researchers need for their academic careers are covered in this programme. With 30 hours of content, these courses introduce research students and staff to key areas including intellectual property, publishing, ethics, project management, and career planning. A full list of the current courses is below.
The courses were developed in conjunction with leading universities and feature leading figures from the worlds of research, academic publishing and commerce.
The associated learning management system is unique in that it requires very little of the complex administration associated with such systems. If you subscribe to Research Skills Online then all of your students will be able to self-register as long as they have an e-mail address from your institution. If students pass this course they are issued with a personalized course completion certificate that can be saved, printed or sent by e-mail to an administrator.
As a subscriber you will get access to a sophisticated administration system which allows you to track the activity of your students. You will rapidly be able to see which of your students have completed the course.
